Complete Deep Cleaning Checklist

New year, get ready for a deep cleaning! Here is a list of what a deep cleaning for your home should look like! 

For the Entire Home

Dust and vacuum - everything! And we mean everything! Don’t forget the light fixtures, hard to reach ledges and windows.

Remove and clean vent covers - wipe them with a dryer sheet so to prevent dust build up 

Mop floors - create a natural solution with a cup of vinegar to 4 liters of hot water. 

Wipe your ceiling fan blades - make sure to do this at least twice a year! 

Clean stains on carpet and upholstery - you can steam clean if there are larger stains. 

Wipe fingerprints from doors and doorframes - do not forget to also clean the baseboards. 

Clean the garbage cans and recycling bins - soak them and then wipe them down with soapy water. 

Replace your air filters - make sure to do this every two months at least. 

Clean windows and blinds - you can still use a mixture with vinegar. 

Kitchen 

Descale faucets and showerheads - the calcium buildup can be removed with vinegar. 

Clear aerators - unscrew them and soak them in vinegar. 

Clean the sinks - make sure to use scouring powder to remove all the stains. 

Clean oven and wire racks - Scrub them in soapy water. Use oven cleaner and baking soda to scrub. 

De-grease stop top and hood fan - don’t forget the knobs! 

Clean microwave - oven cleaner and disinfectant spray are the winning combination here. 

Empty and clean your refrigerator and freezer - clear out all expired items weekly and scrub it down at least once a month. 

Clean your dishwasher - run an empty cycle with a mixture of vinegar and baking soda. 

Bathroom 

Scrub the grout - make a mixture of baking soda and water and scrub with a toothbrush. 

Wash your shower curtain - the shower curtain gets often overlooked but you should clean it at least every 3 months.

Clean the toilet - don’t neglect the top of the base and the top of the tank. 

Clean toothbrush holder - this also gets overlooked often but it would be great to clean it at least once a month. 

Scrub the tub - and don’t forget to polish the faucets.
